Forge with Macee
This class is a playful, beginner-friendly workshop where you'll create your own textured metal jewelry with Macee. We'll use cold-forging and very simple hammer-texturing techniques only - no fire, just basic tools and satisfying whacks. You'll explore different ways to add texture to your metal through forging, including hammers, specialty tools, and a few fun stamps, then choose to turn your piece into either a pair of earrings or a simple necklace using jump rings and other cold connections. All supplies are provided, including some miscellaneous found objects you will incorporate into your design. Come make something you can wear home, and have fun doing it.
Felt with Dalis
Discover the magic of blending texture and color in this hands on nuno felt scarf class. Using wool, silk, glitz and other embellishments, you'll crete an ethereal lightweight scar that feels as luxurious as it looks. Explore the fundamentals of nuno felting -- a technique that bonds wool to silk chiffon through moisture, heat and gentle agitation. You;ll be guided through fiber layout, color choices, and using the dryer for felting. All supplies are included.

Maximum class size is 16 participants so reserve your spot now! You'll be welcomed by the artists with coffee and lemon balm cake, then a calming walk around the gardens then get down to creating.

Two separate evening ornament classes are available! Pick either night!
Alcohol Ink Ornament Class: Tuesday, December 10, 2024 (6 - 8pm) $65
Alcohol Ink Ornament Class: Wednesday, December 11, 2024 (6 - 8pm) $65
Come join me for a fun small class that will bring out the artist within you (yes, this includes those of you who say you don’t have a creative bone in your body!) We will be making gorgeous one-of-a-kind glass and abstract alcohol ink ornaments for your tree or as an incredible gift! The inks have a mind of their own but it’s impossible to make a mistake and you will go home with 3 fabulous ornaments!
Typical classes you may see or that Macee has taught in the past are:
Metal 101 - The basic ins and outs of working with metal
Silver Solder 101 - Introduction to silver sheet and soldering techniques
Brazing 101 - Introduction to brazing with a oxygen/acetylene torch utilizing brass sheet and brass rods
Cold Connection - The techniques and correct order to safely wire wrap and riveting
Earring 101 - Learn everything there is to earrings, including serious metal techniques to add to any of your other basic knowledge of earring craft
Kid’s Classes - Classes that would qualify for a fun outing for the kids or for homeschooling
Classes are sometimes held at the studio or can be held in the surrounding areas of Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland during the day, evening and weekends. Prices and materials will vary.
